Well, here we are, a few weeks into 2025, and let me tell you—it’s already been a whirlwind. I started the year with every intention of finishing my vision board (because I do one every single year). But, let’s be real, January completely snuck up on me, and it’s still sitting there…half-done. So if you’re in the same boat, let’s just call it a “work in progress” and pretend that’s part of the plan, okay?
The year kicked off on the right note with good friends, lots of laughter, and one of those perfect nights that makes you feel like you’re walking into a brand-new year with a full heart. And then life hit the gas pedal.
The first big event of the year was getting ready for my show at Hotel Café—an incredible venue and one of my favorite places to perform. But as many of you know, early January brought devastating fires to Los Angeles. It was heartbreaking. So many friends and family who lost homes and businesses has been devastating. For a moment, I considered canceling the show; it felt like celebrating anything in the middle of so much loss was the wrong move.
But after talking with my band, we decided that the show must go on. Music has a way of healing, of bringing people together, even in the hardest times. We donated all the ticket sales from that night to fire victims, and I’ve never felt prouder of the music community.
The turnout was incredible. We played our hearts out, and I dedicated my song Warrior to those impacted by the fires. It’s a song about strength, resilience, and holding onto hope—a message that felt more important than ever. Thank you to every single one of you who showed up, or bought tickets just to support the cause. Your love and generosity truly made a difference.
I’m continuing to pray for everyone affected by the fires, and I know one thing for sure: Angelenos are resilient. We’ve been knocked down, but we’ll rebuild—stronger than ever.
Now, onto some exciting music news! After kicking off 2025 with such an emotional show, I’m thrilled to announce that I’m releasing my first single of the year: Faded Blue Jeans. This song holds a special place in my heart. I wrote it back in 2023 with two incredible songwriters, Elmer Knable and Melissa Frabotta. It’s for anyone who has that one favorite pair of jeans—so full of memories and history that you just can’t part with them. Maybe you have more than one pair. Either way, I think this song might just be your next anthem.
Faded Blue Jeans drops on February 21, and I’d love for you to pre-save it using the link below. Pre-saving helps so much because it signals to platforms like Spotify and Apple Music that people are excited about the song, which means it has a better chance of landing on playlists and reaching more listeners. Every pre-save makes a huge difference, so thank you in advance for your support—it truly means the world to me.
Here’s to a 2025 filled with music, resilience, and moments that make it all worth it. Thank you for being on this journey with me.
XOX,
Kimberly Dawn
